The Christian Life and the New Jerusalem

No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him.
(Revelation 22:3 ESV)

My dear friend,

Have you ever considered the way Scripture speaks of the New Jerusalem? You see, everbody 'wants to go to heaven'. I can assure you there are godless people who will rejoice in the external characteristics of it. Everyone desires to live in full health and wealth. So when the Bible says that 'no longer there will be anything accursed' in the New Jerusalem, nobody would be weeping. The problem here is that 'The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it'. Because of this, a great multitude of people should feel like strangers, and the truth is - they are. Let's keep it simple: people who hate God and at the same time desire to 'go to heaven' have a wrong expectation of what heaven really is: the place in which God reigns. Christians should follow after Christ. The most important in the Christian's life is Jesus Christ Himself!

Christ will come. How then shall we live? The christian life in this fallen world is the preparation for the New Jerusalem. Christians will be sanctified in this life and in the end, they will be glorified. Look to Christ, follow Christ and you will joyfully enter the Kingdom of God!
